Resolution Blocked

A resolution sponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, honoring Michael Jackson has been blocked by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"A resolution, I think, would open up to contrary views to — that are not necessary at this time to be expressed in association with a resolution whose purpose is quite different."

Somewhat less diplomatically Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., posted a video on YouTube calling Michael Jackson a "pervert" and a "paedophile".

Michael Jackson's Brain

The Los Angeles assistant chief coroner, Ed Winter, said that Michael Jackson's brain, or part of it, would be returned to the Jackson family for interment after further tests.

The death certificate does not identify the cause of death.

1 Billion

An estimated 1 billion people around the world watched Michael Jackson's memorial service yesterday, ironically achieving viewing numbers in death what he didn't achieve in life.

Michael Jackson's Memorial Service Live Feed

Watch live feed of Michael Jackson's memorial service here.

The Michael Jackson Memorial live stream will start at 12:30PM ET / 9:30AM PST on Tuesday, July 7th:

Crackdown on Touts

Unsurprisingly the tickets for the funeral/memorial of the late Michael Jackson, to be held today in Los Angeles, are being touted on the net for staggering sums of up to $25K.

Craigslist and eBay state that, when a tout is flagged by other users, they are pulling the adverts as soon as they can.

Over 1.6M applied for the 17,500 free tickets.

The service will be streamed live on the net. It is expected that the online demand to view the service live will slow down the net quite noticeably.

Going Like Hot Cakes

The Telegraph reports that over 1.2 million people had entered the global online lottery for the 17,500 available tickets for the late Michael Jackson's memorial service, 24 hours after the website for applications opened.

Applications are being received at a rate of around 50,000 per hour, or more than 800 per minute.

Doubtless many of these free tickets will end up being sold by touts.

Good luck to the police trying to control the crowd at the service!

In other news, it seems that (in order to facilitate further tests) Jackson's body will be buried without its brain.
