Over Egging The Pudding
It seems that the defence team in the Michael Jackson case have been pulling out all the stops, to try to convince the judge to reduce the bail from $3M to $70K.
The team cite numerous examples of Michael Jackson's "Worldwide Community and Business Activities" for 2001-2003.
These include: a cameo in the movie "Men in Black II," being best man at the wedding of Liza Minnelli and David Gest (how does that contribute to the community?), and autographing a teddy bear dressed in his likeness for a charity fund raising event.
Other examples listed included; being named "third Best Looking Singer" by the 1997 Bravo Magazine Awards (highly relevant I don't think), and receiving the key last year to the city of his hometown, Gary, Ind.
Now call me a cynic, but don't you think that is "over egging the pudding" somewhat?
In my view this approach will backfire, as it trivialises the issues and makes Jackson look foolish.
