The media are awash with rumours that Michael Jackson is planning to move to Barnstaple, in Devon UK.
Seemingly Jackson is to move into his brother Tito's new house.
Tito is quoted:
"We hope it will be a family hideaway where my brothers and sisters can escape media attention when we need to.
I can confirm that he [Michael] has been to Barnstaple on private visits in recent years along with my brother Jermaine and a few other Jackson siblings.
My family love North Devon and the wonderful countryside and friendly people. I am looking forward to living in Barnstaple and I hope the Barnstaple public will respect our family's privacy.
Michael likes North Devon, too, as no one bothers him."
Matt Fiddes a friend and celeb bodyguard is also quoted:
"Tito spoke with Michael on the phone the other night and all the family are certain that this is the area where they want to find a UK family hideaway.
Tito is staying with me until the weekend but if everything goes through OK, he will soon be able to use the home as a base from which to develop his career in the UK."
It is alleged that Jackson has made offers on two properties, following several viewings in villages on the outskirts of Barnstaple.
Why, if the Jackson's claim that they want a "hideaway" and privacy from the media etc, do they then embark on a publicity drive about this move?

Reunited?
It is reported that The Jackson Five are planning to reunite for a tour next year, that at least is what Jermaine Jackson has told the BBC.
Jermaine said that Michael would take part, and concert dates had been discussed.

We owe that to the fans and to the public.
There's been so much going on, getting over all the hurdles that we all were faced with during Michael's trial.

Jackson on The X-Factor
ITV and Simon Cowell have signed up Michael Jackson to appear on the British version of X-Factor. On the assumption that all goes to plan, Jackson's first appearance will be in early December. He will be a mentor to the show's contestants.
An anonymous source is quoted in the UK newspaper, The Sun, saying:
"We've got some huge names but Michael Jackson really is a sensational signing. He is a truly global, worldwide superstar. And this will be his first TV appearance in Britain since the Martin Bashir interview. Given his background with ITV, it's even more astonishing that he agreed to do it."
The question is, will this really happen?

Jackson To Appear at World Music Awards
Michael Jackson will attend the World Music Awards, in Earls Court London on the 15th of November, this will be his first public appearance in the UK for nine years.
Jackson is scheduled to receive the Diamond Award, which honours artists who have sold over 100 million albums.
The award is based on record sales, not votes or judges' panels.
Melissa Corken, founder and executive producer of the awards, said:
"We are thrilled to be bringing the World Music Awards to London, the music capital of the world. The UK is the home of many of the world's greatest selling artists of all time. The presence of Michael Jackson is very exciting for us."
Actress Lindsay Lohan will be hosting the awards, and Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli will be performing on the night.

Michael Jackson In Britain
Michael Jackson has been living in Britain, apparently for the past month, this somewhat contradicts other reports that he had been staying with his family in California.
If the reports are true, then he has been staying at Cliveden in Berkshire, a magnificent stately home and backdrop to the Profumo sex scandal of the early 60's.
The reports claim that he has asked if it is up for sale, which it isn't. Given the fact that he cannot afford to pay his workers at Neverland, you would wonder where he thinks he will get the money from to be able to buy a stately home.
Jackson and his entourage were staying at Spring Cottage on the estate, which was where orgies involving; call girls, a Russian spy and leading names including John Profumo and Christine Keeler took place.
Allegedly Jackson also stayed in the Cotswolds and visited Scotland.
The rumours also claim that Jackson has asked about schooling his children in Britain.
One of Jackson's spokesmen is quoted as saying:
"Michael has been in the UK for several weeks now. It is very unlikely he will return to the US. Europe and Britain in particular feel like a safe haven to him at this time."
As with all stories concerning Jackson, this I would say should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt.

Fans Shun Jackson
Michael Jackson's fans seem to be shunning him in the aftermath of his trial.
His latest greatest hits album "The Essential Michael Jackson" has sold only 8,000 copies in the US, in its first week of release, and has reached number 128 in the chart.
However, the album went straight to number two in the UK.
British public relations expert Max Clifford has revealed that he turned down a request to represent Jackson after his trial.
Quote:
"He came to me a month ago and I turned him down. It would be the hardest job in PR after Saddam Hussein and I would be astounded if he could turn things around. People were extremely offended by even some of the things he admitted in court. The final judgement is with the record buying public and they have made their verdict clear."

Jackson Moves To Europe
It is reported that Michael Jackson is planning a spectacular comeback.
However, he will first buy a new base in the UK or France.
Jackson has left America for good, and is now seeking a fresh start in Europe.
One of his entourage is quoted as saying:
"He wants somewhere that guarantees his total privacy but allows him to get to recording studios and gig venues quickly."

You Say Tomato, I Say Tomato
I have had an email from someone who, whilst enjoying the coverage of the trial, pointed out that defence is spelt with an "s".
It occurs to me that maybe there are many of you, in the USA, who have been reading this site and thinking that my spelling of defence and some other words was wrong.
I would just like to point out that I am not illiterate; for you see ladies and gentlemen, I am British and living in the UK.
The spelling is correct, if you are British.
We are two nations separated by the Atlantic, and by our common language.
It occurs to me that maybe there are many of you, in the USA, who have been reading this site and thinking that my spelling of defence and some other words was wrong.

London Visit Off
It seems that, despite the fact that Michael Jackson still has a loyal fan base in the UK, the pressure of the trial must be getting to him.

Michael Jackson's Mind
British TV's Channel five showed an hour long documentary, last night, entitled Michael Jackson's Mind.
It featured associates, friends, detectives and psychologists who knew or were at least familiar with Jackson.
There were no "revelations" of any significance, most of the matters discussed are already in the public domain.
However, for fans of interior decoration, there were some shots of the inside of Neverland.
The documentary came up with the conclusion that if Jackson is convicted, it will be the end of his world.
Also, the overall opinion of the psychologists (both US and UK based) was that Jackson has a somewhat "troubled mind".
No surprises there then!

Sneak In Sneak Out
It seems that Michael Jackson may keep his forthcoming visit to London a low key affair, by just "sneaking in, and sneaking out" according to his spokesman.
The visit has been criticised by some Labour MP's and child welfare groups who, forgetting the time honoured principle that a man is innocent until proven guilty, want the Home Secretary to ban his visit because of the allegations of child abuse.
Mark Tami, Labour MP for Alyn and Deeside, has written to the Home Secretary appealing for him to step in to stop the visit.
It seems that Home Office is refusing to discuss Jackson's visit, but has told reporters that anyone entering the UK is assessed in the same way.
In brief, the rules on immigration mean that civil servants will determine whether any individual could be refused entry; "..if there is a reason that their presence is deemed to be not conducive to the public good..".
In my view, until he is proven guilty, he should be allowed to enter the UK; after all, we allow a good number of alleged terrorists to reside here.

Shutting The Stable Door
It seems that yesterday the lawyers acting for Michael Jackson, in respect of his upcoming trial for child molestation, did something rather strange.
Robert Sanger, Jackson's defence lawyer, asked the judge presiding to seal certain motions relating to the case. One of these is reported to be their own request to have the charges against Michael Jackson dismissed.
It seems that their rationale was that, if the documents were made public, then possible evidence would be disclosed that may not be used at the trial.
Now I am not lawyer, but I have to confess I find this a little strange. It has already been widely reported that they wish to try to have the charges against Michael Jackson dismissed; what possible benefit can it be to them to have this covered up, after the event?
It seems to me that the three wise monkeys would be well placed to be involved, in both the prosecution and defence of Jackson, viz:

It's All Garbage
I read an interesting article in the New York Times, about the opening of "Star Trash"; an exhibition of the works of Pascal Rostain and Bruno Mouron, at the "Star trash" store in SoHo New York.
Here you can view and buy garbage that is art, or is that the other way around? Rostain and Mouron have taken the garbage of the stars, and turned it into "art".
We have a saying in the UK "where there's muck, there's brass" (ie money can be made out of garbage and dirt), which seems entirely apposite in this case.
Mouron and Rostain make an interesting comment about Michael Jackson, noting that he has garbage does not have much artistic potential. It seems that, despite his large retinue, Jackson's garbage indicates that he is a sad lonely man.
Well, some of us suspected that anyway.
I would imagine that the quality of his garbage is the least of Michael Jackson's worries at the moment.

The Return of The Jackson Five?
There is a rumour circulating that, if the trial of Michael Jackson turns out alright (ie he is found innocent), there will be a re-union of the Jackson Five and the Osmonds for a special joint performance.
However, in the meantime, it seems that some people are a little nervous about the damage that the trial of Michael Jackson will do to his brand image and the brand image of those associated with him.
I understand that the release of the "Very Best Of The Jackson 5" album, expected to be released in the UK on the 31st of May, has been delayed.
I suspect that, with regard to future performances and album releases, all bets are off until the trial is out of the way.
