It seems that some authors will stop at nothing to hype their books.
Stacy Brown, who is one of the authors of the book "Michael Jackson: The Man Behind The Mask", is adding publicity to his work by saying that Michael Jackson will be dead within ten years.
Brown believes that Jackson will "crash and burn" before long.
Brown, who co-wrote the book with Bob Jones, said:
"I don't think Michael Jackson will be alive in 10 years time...It's amazing to me that what happened to Elvis hasn't happened to him. He lives on the edge. He's bound to crash and burn. He's 87 pounds and six foot tall - that's unhealthy."
Brown doesn't think that Jackson would commit suicide:
"I don't think he has it in him to take his own life. I don't see him putting a gun to his head. It'll be an accidental overdose - something like that..It's the most tragic story in pop music history - and he's not dead yet."

Michael Jackson Sued
It seems that the trials of Michael Jackson have not ended.
It is reported that Prescient Acquisition Group, a financial company that specialises in asset acquisitions, has sued Jackson for an alleged sum owing of $48M relating to fees for rescuing Jackson's stake in the publishing rights to songs by the Beatles.
The firm alleges that Jackson enlisted it last November, to provide financial advice and to secure refinancing of a $272M debt to Bank of America.
The suit says that the financing group arranged $537M in financing, this was enough for Jackson to pay off the debt and exercise an option to buy the remaining 50% of the Beatles library he didn't already own.

Michael Jackson Urged To Donate To Live8
Michael Jackson is being urged to donate his share of the profits from the Live 8 concerts to charity.
Paul McCartney played Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Get Back, Drive My Car, Helter Skelter, The Long And Winding Road and Hey Jude at the London portion of Live 8.
Since Jackson owns the rights to all Beatles songs, he would have earned money on McCartney's performance, and the subsequent sales of Beatles songs.
This may be a hard call for Jackson, as the profits would go quite some way to clearing his debts.
At the end of the day he will make a calculation; take the profits now, or give them away in the expectation that the giveaway will earn him larger future profits by rebuilding his brand.

In Denial
Michael Jackson's publicist, Raymone Bain, who was recently fired appears to be in a state of denial.
She is apparently still insisting that, because Jackson didn't fire her personally, she still has a job.
Bain said:
"Randy Jackson (Michael's younger brother) says I'm fired, but I am still working for Michael until he terminates me. He's the boss."

Another Investigation Into Jackson
Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office is still refusing to return evidence, that it seized from Michael Jackson's Neverland in 2003 and 2004.
Attorney Stephen Dunkle, who is working for Jackson lawyer Robert Sanger, filed a declaration that requested a return Jackson's property.
It seems that the prosecution is dragging its heals on returning the evidence, as it is hoping to try again via another investigation.
The DA's office responded to the request by saying:
"Certain of the property seized from Neverland is contraband. Certain of that property may not belong to Mr. Jackson. Other items may have relevance in the event of another investigation."
Adding:
"One just knows that defendant's counsel would assert that the order [to return Jackson's property] covers photographs taken of Mr. Jackson's person in 1994, in connection with the investigation of his reported molestation [of the boy in the 1994 Chandler case]."
There is an old saying, that seems applicable in this case, "put up, or shut up".

Legal Repercussions of Jackson's Trial
Santa Barbara County attorneys have asked the state Supreme Court not to render moot, a ruling that limited the news media's access to evidence in the Michael Jackson molestation case.
This could have ramifications on the freedom of the press in California.
Attorneys for news organisations have asked the California Supreme Court to "delist" a decision by the state's 2nd District Court of Appeal. Delisting would mean that other courts could not rely on the decision as a legal precedent in other cases.

"The media's insatiable quest for stories that showcase criminal behavior illustrates why this decision is significant and should remain published..While admittedly a Michael Jackson case does not happen very frequently, the media presents for public consumption a new crime story seemingly every day...."
Theodore Boutrous, the news organisations' attorney, said:
"If it's published then it can be cited as precedent...We believe it should serve as very little if any precedent because of the unique facts of the case and the rationale of the court."

Sixth Greatest Hits Album
Michael Jackson will release his sixth Greatest Hits album on the 18th of July.
The LP will be Jackson's first tentative attempt to rebuild his shattered music career.
The album, called "The Essential Michael Jackson", will include songs spanning his entire career from; 1970's 'I want you back' to 2001's 'You rock my world'.

Jackson Moves To Europe
It is reported that Michael Jackson is planning a spectacular comeback.
However, he will first buy a new base in the UK or France.
Jackson has left America for good, and is now seeking a fresh start in Europe.
One of his entourage is quoted as saying:
"He wants somewhere that guarantees his total privacy but allows him to get to recording studios and gig venues quickly."

Jackson In Hiding In Bahrain
Michael Jackson has remained out of sight during his vacation in Bahrain.
This has disappointed his fans living there.
Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, a son of Bahrain's king, is quoted as saying:

Jackson On Live 8?
Hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons, a co-producer of Saturday's Live 8 concert in Philadelphia, is clearly an optimist.
He is hoping to get Michael Jackson to perform at the Saturday Live 8 show.
Jackson is currently on vacation in Bahrain.
Simmons is reportedly trying to get Jackson and Prince to join the current lineup of stars on stage, for a finale rendition of the 1985 Live Aid anthem "We are the World," which Jackson co-wrote.

Jackson Flies To Bahrain
Michael Jackson is on holiday in the Gulf kingdom of Bahrain, as a guest of honour of the king's son.
Jackson who arrived from Europe on a private plane on Wednesday night; it is reported that he is there to relax.
A spokesman is quoted as saying:
"(Jackson) wants to be away from the U.S. press and he chose Bahrain to rest after what he went through in the past few months,".
Jackson is there at the personal invitation of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the king's son, and is staying in one of the royal palaces.
