Further problems have beset plans by Michael Jackson's mother (and three of his siblings) to hold a tribute concert in Cardiff on 8 October.
Aside from the fact that Jermaine and Randy Jackson are opposed to the event, the executors of Jackson's estate are none too pleased that permission has not been sought from them to use the name "Michael Jackson" in the concert.
The late star's name in it own right carries value, and those who seek to make money out of using it in concerts need permission from the estate.

Yet Another Lawsuit!
Katherine Jackson, the late Michael Jackson's mother, has been given permission to proceed with her civil lawsuit against AEG Live.
Superior Court Judge Yvette M. Palazuelos rejected a motion by AEG Live to dismiss the case, which alleges that AEG Live was responsible for medical decisions made by Dr. Conrad Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.
The lawsuit was filed last September 15 on behalf of Katherine Jackson Michael Jackson's three children.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am beginning to lose track of all the litigation arising since Jackson died.

Yet Another Lawsuit
The estate of the late Michael Jackson has filed a law suit in Los Angeles against, Howard Mann, a business partner of Katherine Jackson.
The suit alleges that memorabilia, created with her permission, and other commercial ventures constituted "wholesale misappropriation" of Michael Jackson's intellectual property.
The suit accuses Mann of "arrogant disregard" for the estate's rights and asks a judge to stop his company, Vintage Pop Media, from further use of Jackson's name, image and music.
The suit does not name Katherine Jackson.

Katherine Jackson Sues AEG
The late Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, is suing AEG Live group (the organisers of the London concert that Jackson was preparing for).
Mrs Jackson accuses AEG of negligence, breach of contract and fraud, and of putting the prospect of "massive profits" ahead of her son's health and safety.
As to whether this, or any of the other lawsuits etc flying around, actually gets anywhere who knows?
However, one thing is for sure, the legal profession is making a very nice living out of the late Michael Jackson and his legacy.

Happenstance
Now that the late Michael Jackson is "in the money", it is "coincidental" to see that there are numerous people/organisations all making a claim for a portion of that money.
By happenstance Mocienne Petit Jackson has filed documents with L.A. County Superior Court, claiming that her mother Barbara (sister to Diana Ross) was impregnated by Jackson when he was 17.
She goes on to claim that when she was 9, Jackson's mother had her abducted and sent to Belgium. The 7 abductors were then allegedly murdered.
Well now!

Katherine Jackson Sued
Katherine Jackson (the late Michael Jackson's mother) is reportedly being sued for $13M by The Segye Times (a South Korean newspaper), for the alleged costs of a cancelled tour.
The Segye Times has filed papers with Michael Jackson's estate, informing the court it has a judgement dating back to 1994 against Mrs Jackson for $4M.
The newspaper alleges it advanced Mrs Jackson, husband Joe and son Jermaine $5.5M for a series of Jackson family concerts which never took place. The interest element makes the total $13M.
Coincidentally Katherine's the late son Michael is now "in the money", reportedly earning $1BN since he died.
Amazing how many debts are "remembered" when there is a "sniff" of money in the air.

Paternity Claim Rejected
Superior Court Judge Robert A. Schnider has rejected Nona Paris Lola Jackson's claim that, due to a rumored sexual relationship with Jackson, she should be named the legal mother of Michael Jackson's three children.
Nona Jackson has described herself as a "black Jew born in Britain". However, despite her claims, she presented no evidence that she had ever contacted Michael Jackson regarding her filing.
Nona Jackson claimed that she had indeed contacted Michael and ex-wife Debbie Rowe prior to the legal case. On this basis she claimed that she should be involved in the lives of Prince Michael Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael II.
Nona Jackson, who rather incongruously signed her own lawsuit "dudu", was given a second chance by Schnider after he ruled that she could file a similar suit as soon as she had appropriately served all interested parties.
Expect more on this in due course.

Parental Eviction
Michael Jackson has quashed reports that his parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, might be evicted from their Los Angeles home.
It has been reported that Jackson's parents are facing foreclosure on their home in Encino, California, and that they have asked their son Randy to beg Michael for financial help.
Given his own financial problems, I would have thought that this was a long shot.
Needless to say, this being the Jackson clan, nothing is ever simple. Reports indicate that Randy wants the $3M he lent Michael, during his child molestation trial, back.
The National Enquirer quotes an "insider" as saying:
"Randy claims that he was the only one who kept Michael afloat, by handling his finances as Michael was desperately fighting to keep himself out of jail on child abuse charges."
Michael's publicist Raymone Bain has ridden to the rescue stating that the eviction stories are "absolutely untrue", and that he isn't "aware" of any claim by Randy against Michael.
The trouble is, Michael being unaware of a claim and there being a claim may well be two different issues in Michael's world.

Allegations of Serious Misconduct
The jury that cleared Michael Jackson of child sex abuse has been accused of serious misconduct including, smuggling books and videotapes into the jury room.
The allegations come from Stacy Brown, who used to be a friend of Jackson and a spokesman.
He has been approached by two of the hapless members of the jury; who want to make a fast buck out of their brush with celebrity, by writing a couple of books.
Isn't there a law against members of juries profiting from the verdicts?
Brown is quoted as saying:
"That jury would have acquitted him even if they had a videotape (of the alleged crime)".
It seems that one juror allegedly sneaked a video of Court TV broadcasts, widely considered biased towards the prosecution, into the deliberation room.
A medical book had also been smuggled into deliberations, to show that "Jackson fit the book`s definition of a paedophile to a T"; but Eleanor Cook, who had brought the book into the room, was later "intimidated" into voting for acquittal.
Three of the female jurors were such fans of Jackson, that they allegedly gushed "Not my Michael..." when the panel discussed the sex abuse charges.
Brown alleges that he was told that the women formed a bond and their "minds were made up about one-third of the way through the trial."
He also alleges that Cook had also admitted that she frequently winked at Jackson's mother, Katherine, across the courtroom.
Seems to me the verdict should be thrown out, and a retrial ordered.

Katherine Jackson Speaks Out
Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, gave an interview to the Today show on MSNBC yesterday.
She said that the trial took everything out of Jackson, both physically and mentally.
Quote:
"One of the reasons why it devastated him, he would tell me, 'Mother, when they say 'call your next witness,' and I look around and I'm surprised. It's people that I've helped, and they're up there trying to make money off of me by lying. I don't understand how people can do that.'"
Adding that:
"he'd been proven not to be a child molester, and they know he's not. But some people just believe what they believe and I can't stop that. But I wish they would stop and think about it. That he is not a child molester. He is not a pedophile. He doesn't give liquor to children. These kids were bad kids."
Mrs Jackson said that she feels sorry for the Arvizos:
"I feel sorry for them, too. From what I hear about their past, I feel sorry for their future if they don't change their way."
However, she was less forgiving about Tom Sneddon:
"My son is a better person than he is. What he did to my son, my son would never do to anyone else."

Juror Lets Herself and Her Fellow Jurors Down
Pauline Coccoz, one of the jury who found Michael Jackson not guilty of molestation, attended Jackson's celebration party last Friday.
400 people attended the party, which was held at the Chumash Indian Casino.
Pauline Coccoz reportedly told journalists that:
"They were playing 'Beat It' and I almost started to cry,"
Jackson's mother, Katherine, told the fans at the party:
"We couldn't have done it without you,".
Coccoz claimed that she decided to bring her family to the party, partly as a public display of her confidence in the jury's verdict.
To my mind for a juror to openly fraternise with the person/associates of the person that they have just acquitted, sends out a very bad signal indeed re the independence of that juror.
She was, in my view, very unwise to attend and has let her fellow jurors down.
Could there be grounds for the prosecution to claim mistrial, on the basis of this juror not being seen to be independent?

Final Party
There was a final victory party held this weekend, for 400 family and fans of Michael Jackson.
The event was held at the Chumash Indian casino, where Joe Jackson stayed during the trial.
The guests included; Katherine Jackson, Robert Sanger the defence lawyer, and Pauline Coccoz, one of the jurors who acquitted him.
Is it appropriate that an "independent" member of the jury attend a party thrown to celebrate Jackson's acquittal?
Michael Jackson did not attend, and hasn't been since the trial.

Family Rift Denied
Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson's father, dismissed speculation that the Jackson family are distancing themselves from Michael.
Joe Jackson was responding to media reports that the absence of family members, during Michael's trial, was indicative of some form of family rift.

According to the family spokeswoman, Angel Howansky, the family decided that only Michael's parents Katherine and Joe would attend the trial.

Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, said yesterday that the reason that she briefly left the courtroom during the trial last week was to use the rest room; not to avoid hearing graphic testimony.

Gavin Takes The Stand Again
Gavin Arvizo is back on the witness stand today, in the Michael Jackson trial.
Jackson arrived 20 minutes early; accompanied by his parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson.
He walked without assistance for the first time since Thursday, when his attorneys said he was stricken by a painful back problem that required hospital treatment.

Jackson To Take The Stand
Tom Mesereau, Michael Jackson's lawyer, yesterday said that Jackson would tell the jury how Gavin Arvizo his accuser had run wild at his Neverland Valley ranch; drinking wine and looking at porn, while his mother tried to extort money.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's going to be a long trial and you are going to hear lots of evidence..We are extremely confident that when you do, you are going to find Michael Jackson absolutely not guilty of any of this."

Jackson Out of Hospital
Michael Jackson left hospital in a stable condition yesterday, but is still in need of care.
His spokesman said:
"He continues to need care for some persistent viral symptoms, but otherwise, he is in good spirits..".
Jackson was treated for flu-like symptoms and vomiting. Jackson's parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, spent several hours at his bedside together with Germaine Jackson.
Note, reports all say he had "flu like" symptoms; in other words, he did not have the flu.
